Microsoft and Materna
Microsoft and Materna share a decades-long presence in the IT market as well as a partnership focused on future topics. As a Microsoft Gold Partner, we offer the complete range of services for the Azure cloud platform: from initial consulting to development and migration scenarios to an all-round carefree managed services package.
With Azure, Microsoft offers a cloud platform consisting of over 200 products and cloud services. With its help, existing applications can be operated more cost-efficiently in the cloud instead of in the data center, and new use cases with higher-quality platform services can be implemented in the shortest possible time, for example for artificial intelligence and machine learning. The security features meet the highest standards: Microsoft complies with the C5 standard of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and employs more than 3,500 cybersecurity experts to ensure the security of the cloud.
Materna is a Microsoft Gold Partner for Cloud Platform, Application Development, Application Integration and Data Analytics, among others. Closely interlinked with our nine focus areas, we use this technical expertise to accompany customers on their Journey2Cloud™, for example, to digitize the public sector, to help companies achieve greater resilience or to enable new business models based on the data economy.
Services based on Microsoft:
Materna is behind it
Cloud migration of a logistics platform
In a current customer project, Materna first modernized a previously monolithic logistics platform of a German company to a microservice architecture and then migrated it directly to the cloud. Now it is ready to implement a wide variety of business requirements quickly and continuously, while also taking advantage of the new opportunities offered by the cloud. Automatic scaling of the infrastructure has already been implemented, for example, so that no bottlenecks occur even in high-load phases and sufficient server capacity is always available.
App provides status data of large kitchen appliances
In a customer project, Materna developed a solution for Hobart, a global manufacturer of large kitchen appliances, that processes status data from large kitchen appliances used by customers worldwide. For this purpose, the machine data is stored in a Microsoft Azure-based cloud application. Customers as well as the company's own technicians access this data via mobile apps and web applications.
Hybrid cloud solution for e-commerce
Materna migrated the new e-commerce platform of an electrical wholesaler from the local server to the cloud in a lighthouse project with Microsoft Azure. By setting up a hub-and-spoke architecture, a particularly secure network architecture was implemented, which serves the customer as a reference system for further cloud projects. Geo-redundant platforms at two locations ensure maximum reliability. In the hybrid solution, Azure services such as Kubernetes Service, Container Registry, Database for MySQL, Key Vault, Storage Account and Virtual Machines were connected to the local IT solutions.
